Kitchen mini makeover

I have been very busy lately between working on the mini make over in my kitchen and family commitments. I wanted to share some pictures. It has been slow going but I am very pleased with the results. This has all been so we can refinish the hardwood floors. Here are some before pictures.

I used Benjamin  Moore  Advance paint for the cabinets and island.  The cabinets were in good condition so we didn’t want to replace  them,  I just wanted a lighter look.   My husband removed the counters and we had granite installed….I love them.  We changed out the hardware with an oiled bronze color to match the lantern over the island. I bought both the lantern and the knobs off of Ebay. The counter chairs came from overstocks at a very good deal for the four of them. I plan to add slip covers to them. The valance over the sink I made. I’m thinking about using the same fabric for the slip covers.  The tile came from Lowes. My husband installed the tile and I grouted it. We were going to use a different tile that we had bought earlier but we were six pieces short (I’m glad I like this one so much better).  There is still the floor to do and my husband is going to build me a shelf over the computer desk and add some more crown molding. I do want to change the color of the island as well I just couldn’t bare to paint it a third time on the same day. I will add more pictures tomorrow since I have been fighting with my computer for about an hour now.
