Flatware… such a boring name. I think it should be called pretty pattern-ware or maybe shiny sparkly ware. Anyway, I have some flatware, some that I’ve picked up here and there and I was thinking how it’s such a shame to keep it hidden away in some drawer only taken out for a short time only to be hidden away again. I love seeing all of the patterns and the monogram script letters.

It doesn’t even matter that not one of the monograms are my last name or that I’ve never been to the New York State Fair, I just think it’s pretty. I always wonder who it belonged to before and did they love the idea of the wonderful curvy letters as much as I do.  Flatware, vintage trophies, Silver trays, they all give off a warm glow.  I was trying to come up with a way to display some spoons I picked up. Something that simple that would show them off. Hey, How about a candle holder? That could work. So that’s what I did. I had this all worked out in my mind that I would use wire and link them altogether but after a about 20 minutes of that and the spoons falling I heard myself say “HELLO…RUBBER BAND” and then I was done. I just used some ribbon to hide the rubber band and now I have a pretty candle holder. It was simple (after the rubber band).
