Artichoke quick craft

There is this consignment store I like to check out every so often and on such a visit I came across the very cool ceramic artichoke  piece. I love the shape and the large size and the 10.00 price tag but I just wasn’t crazy about the color. So, I passed it by like four different times (when I go to this shop I’m there for about an hour just circling). I wasn’t really sure what I would do with it but it came home with me along with some other things. It sat for about two months before I decided that I would just paint the color I wanted. I first primed the piece. I used two coats. Next, I found some paint from another painting project. I used Ralph Lauren’s stone paint. It has a sandy texture so it really looks like stone when it dries. Here’s another picture. I really like the way it turned out. I think I may age it and give it a moss like look to it. It was just a great quick project. I so glad I circled back around to it.
